Joann Meyers-Rhymer, a native of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands serves as the Director of Budget Control for the Department of Education. Her position is territorial, and encompasses the entire budgetary functions of the Department on the islands of St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix.
Joann’s career journeys through 17 years of financial experience. Her professional expertise includes Director of Budget Control, Financial Specialist, Senior Management Analyst, Budget Analyst II, Budget Analyst I, and Accountant. She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration/Accounting from Clarke Atlanta University, and her Master of Science Degree candidacy in Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Maryland University College. Joann’s personal involvements include serving as the Youth President of the Full Body Evangelistic Pentecostal Church, Insular Superintendent for Sabbath School, Treasurer of the Ivanna Eudora Kean Class of 1985, and member of the Virgin Islands Government Finance Officers Association. |
